James Ron | A Sweet Life

James met his Canadian wife, Emma Naughton, while working for Human Rights Watch in Palestine. Emma and Jim now live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with their two children, Tessa and Sacha, and their black Lab, Molly. Sacha was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2009, at the age of two, and now uses an Animas One Touch Ping insulin pump. In his spare time, James volunteers for Life for a Child, a charitable program of the International Diabetes Federation.

James Ron, Ph.D., is an expert in Human Rights Advocacy, having dedicated more than two decades of his life to the field of sociology. His focus has been state violence and the ways that populations are controlled via abuse and harm. He has seen many of the worst and ongoing affects of human rights violations, and has worked extensively with the Human Rights Watch in order to help prevent and monitor abuses. His academic career has taken him to many academic institutions throughout the country.
